The Teresa Treacy Support Group have called on supporters to boycott the ESB by switching service providers.

News Release.
Issued by the Teresa Treacy Support Group.
Wednesday 28th September 2011.

Boycott the ESB – Switch Service Provider – Say It, Mean It, Do It!

The Teresa Treacy Support Group have called on supporters to boycott the
ESB by switching service providers.

Supporters are being asked to research the The Commission for Energy
Regulation website which provides information on alternative electricity
suppliers here :
http://www.cer.ie/en/electricity-retail-market-licences...e4d34

Supporters of Ms Treacy are being encouraged to email the ESB at
service@esbelectricireland.ie with their account numbers to tell them they
will be switching providers unless the ESB stop work on Teresa Treacy's
land and return to the court to apply for her release from Mountjoy
Prison.

Since 2007 Teresa Treacy has offered to accommodate the ESB if they agree
to route the powerlines UNDERGROUND in accordance with progressive
European Standards of Best Practice.

A standoff has developed between the ESB chainsaw crew and supporters of
Ms Treacy on her land at Clonmore, 3 miles east of Tullamore on the
Ballinagar Road.

Garda Superintendent John Moloney has said that Gardai have no authority
to remove protesters from Ms Treacy's land without a court order.

Supporters are currently planting Ash trees on the land and work is stopped.

A lawyer informed the group - “This is a private dispute between the ESB
and Ms Treacy. It's a civil matter and not a criminal matter that
involves the Gardai. The Gardai would be acting beyond their powers if
they were to interfere with the fundamental, civil and constitutional
rights of Ms Treacy's supporters, who has given them her permission to be
there and to plant trees on her land”.

_____

The Teresa Treacy Support Group is a campaign group set up by friends,
neighbours and supporters of Teresa who are organising a campaign in order
to achieve the following:

1. The release of Teresa Treacy from jail.
In the same way as the ESB applied to the High Court for Teresa's
committal for contempt of court orders to allow the ESB on to her land,
the ESB are legally entitled to apply to the court for her release. A
suspension of the work to allow fair and proper negotiation would be good
grounds for her release.

2. The Undergrounding of the powerline in accordance with European
standards of best practice.

3. The protection of the native trees and woodland on Teresa's land.

If they havent cut the last few trees,a bit of ecotage should be done that will save the trees forever and no sane chainsaw operator will ever go near them
.Simply take the longestand biggest nails you can find and hammer them into the trees up to a height of 6ft or more 48 per tree is fine.It wont harm the tree at all,as they will grow around them like a cyst.

Then DO inform the ESB crew that they are spiked. We dont want any accidents happening to people just following orders....A chainsaw blade hitting a hunk of metal in a tree or a sawmill blade hitting such,is pretty nasty. Both to the operator and the sawblade.
Enjoy!!
