DJ MUSIC EVENT TO RAISE MONEY FOR PRISONER SUPPORT

Dublin Basque Solidarity holds Basque political prisoner solidarity fundraising gig in Dublin.

On Saturday 11th January in Seomra Spraoi, the Dublin Basque Solidarity Committee will host a fundraising event in support of Basque political prisoners. The money raised will go to the families of the prisoners. Currently, there are approximately 600 political prisoners dispersed in jails hundreds and often thousands of kilometres from their families. There are also 10 prisoners who are seriously and incurably ill and should long ago have been granted parole according to the Spanish state's own laws.

This is our second annual fundraiser which coincides with the annual prisoners’ solidarity demonstration in Bilbao. Last January saw over 100,000 people take to the streets in support of the prisoners, and our fundraising event that night in Seomra Spraoi was a great success.

We are delighted to have a host of DJs playing a mix of soul, reggae, ska, punk, new wave, disco, funk and lots more. It promises to be a great night and half the door proceeds goes towards Seomra Spraoi. We hope you can make it. Please share the event with your friends.

Please note that Seomra Spraoi does not sell alchohol; there are off-licences nearby.
