On Thursday night, Scott Ritter the former UN weapons inspector for Iraq spoke to a packed room in the Menlo Park Hotel, Galway, at a meeting hosted by the Galway Alliance Against War. Scott was in Ireland to testify at Mary Kelly's trial, and spoke at length about her actions in disarming a US warplane at Shannon airport, and how he felt more people need to become active citizens, rather than just passive consumers, if we are to make into a reality the notion that both Ireland and America are democratic republics.
Scott spoke of many other issues and was warmly received by the audience and many questions were raised.
