This is a setback for the BNP but they havent gone away. They still managed to poll one third of the votes cast. But they were defending a seat that they had won in the previous Council Elections and their inability to retain it against an unpopular Government suggests they may well have peaked in Bradford. "The British National Party has lost one of its seats on Bradford Council at a by-election in Keighley. Labour's Angela Sinfield won the Keighley West seat with a majority of 603 after its BNP councillor Angela Clark stood down last month. Standing for the BNP, Ian Dawson came second, followed by the Conservative and Liberal Democrat candidates in a poll which saw a 35% turnout. |
