Monsanto fury at RTE broadcast of The Future of Food

I havn't seen the film meself so I don't how good it is

Monsanto Ireland CEO Patrick O’Reilly is furious at RTE 2 for broacasting “The Future of Food” last Sunday.

He has complained to RTE and to the chief scientists of the various agricultural research bodies. The Irish Farmers Journal printed the following article in its current issue:

MONSANTO SLAM RTE TV SHOW ON GMO

Irish Farmers Journal, 3 February 2007.

The Dealer notes that Monsanto did not spare the rod this week when beating up independent film maker, Deborah Koons Garcia, whose documentary "The Future of Food" was screened by RTE2 on Monday evening (it was shown on Sunday – Ed.)

The documentary, it appears, was in the style of a "Dr. Who" take on GM food debate, full of scary claims about three headed potatoes and celeries that can dance a salsa.

The film was immediately panned, by Monsanto's Dr. Patrick O'Reilly, as plodding, overlong, a pain in the backside and a cinematic cliché

The barrel of vitriol about Ms. Koons Garcia was emailed Tuesday morning to all the main scientific heads in the Irish agricultural research world, in case their objectivity in the GM debate might have wavered had they watched Monday night's polemic from Ms. Koons Garcia.

We should not quietly sit by and let Monsanto stifle the public debate on GM food and farming!

Please thank RTE for broadcasting the film and encourage them to provide more coverage of the GMO controversy. The person to contact is:

Brian Walsh
Acquisitions Director
RTE
Donnybrook
Dublin 4

tel: (01) 208 2661
email: brian.walsh@ rte.ie

Brian is away till Monday, but you can talk to his colleague Kerstin Eggert or his boss Dermot Horan today.

Please also copy your email to:
Dermot Horan
Kerstin Eggert

I am trying to obtain a copy of Monsanto’s letter and will forward it to you if I succeed.
Kind regards

Your obviously on a satirical rant there. Monsanto have nothing but profit and control of the worlds seeds and therefore supply of food to the earth in mind. They want one tomato, one variety of wheat and one brand of corn for the earth. We will have to buy monsanto only.... they now own 10,000 seedbanks around the world, control the seed, control food.

Ireland need to cultivate a green image, built around GM free organic exporting of our goods. A GM nation would be detrimental to everything our shamrock displays to the world.

GM damages soil, strips earth of its nutrients making it sick, eat sick food, get sick... we are lucky enough to still have a GM nation, watch the future of food and realise that if you want to be like america then sit down and toot monsanto, but if you want to keep ireland and the core of humanity(food) in touch with nature and the correct rythmn of way then please be active against monsanto and all the etcetera in GM

Researching the history of Monsanto i was curious to know exactly who Monsanto were/are..
MONSANTO Family WereJewish Slave Dealers And Owners
Here is some interesting MONSANTO history:
The Jewish Monsanto Family of Louisiana included Benjamin, Isaac, Manuel, Eleanora, Gracia and Jacob. They made frequent purchases of Blacks including twelve in 1785, thirteen and then thirty-one in 1787, and eighty in 1768.
In 1794, Benjamin sold "Babet," a Black woman, to Franco Cardel. Manuel sold two Blacks from Guinea named "Polidor" and "Lucy" to James Saunders for $850 in silver.

As individuals they were owners of Africans whom they named "Quetelle," "Valentin," "Baptiste," "Prince," "Princess," "Ceasar," "Dolly," "Jen," "Fanchonet," "Rozetta," "Mamy," "Sofia," and many others. Isaac repeatedly mortgaged four of these when in financial trouble. Benjamin Monsanto of Natchez, Mississippi entered into at least 6 contracts for the sale of his slaves which would take place after his death. Gracia bequeathed nine Africans to her relatives in her 1790 will, and Eleanora also held Blacks as slaves.

They obviously lack morals and judging by their business practices within Bio Engineering little has changed . A quick search on the Internet concerning covert testing of Rape Seed , Corn and Soya in third world countries and you'll be lost for choice with examples of Bio terrorism .. You like myself will be left wondering "How have they managed to get away with this?" Well in their case it helps to be Zionist Jews as for one if you criticize them you'll be accused of anti Semitism !

I'll not bore you with all the gory details so I've posted a link which i wish i had written myself !

Unidentified members of the U.S. House House Energy and Commerce Committee are attempting to use important toxic chemical safety reform legislation to protect Monsanto, one of the world’s largest and most profitable polluters, from liability for billions of dollars of damages caused by toxic polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). This reform legislation is supposed to prevent the release of unsafe chemicals like PCBs, not protect Monsanto from responsibility for the human health and environmental disaster it created.

Monsanto was, in essence, the sole U.S. manufacturer of PCBs, producing and distributing roughly 1.4 billion pounds between 1930 until 1977. The company continued production for roughly a decade after learning that these persistent, toxic chemicals were contaminating natural resources and harming people around the world. Monsanto’s PCBs have contaminated more than 80,000 miles of streams and rivers and 2.9 million acres of lakes and reservoirs in the United States alone. Monsanto must be held accountable for the damage inflicted on people and natural resources.
