Why are older gay men who have age-gap affairs held to a lower standard than older straight men who do exactly the same? The reaction to Bill Bellichick's youthful new squeeze shows the bias in action, says Steven Tucker.

Can Monkeys Teach Us About Fairness? Sat May 17, 2025 17:00 | Noah Carl
A famous study from 2003 was touted as showing that monkeys reject "unequal pay". However, a more recent shows that the original interpretation was wrong. So, no, monkeys don?t have much to teach us about fairness.

Falklands War Landing Craft is Decorated for Pride Sat May 17, 2025 15:00 | Will Jones
The decoration of a Falklands War landing craft in rainbow colours to celebrate Pride has caused uproar among veterans, who called it "entirely inappropriate" and said, "Our Falklands dead will be turning in their graves."

Jump To Comment: 7 6 5 4 3 2 1You are continuing your smear campaign. It was pointed out to you that Ms Mather only worked with one engineering group and that engineering group was headed by a CND activist and it had no links with any arms industry research.
Not suprisingly, others at the University have links with BAE. Just as some at DCU have links with the arms industry and even with US Military contracts. It would be wrong to claim that whole departments of DCU were compromised by this just as it wrong to claim that whole departments of Glasgow University are compromised.
Now it has been shown that there are problem areas in your own backyard dont you think you should concentrate on causing problems for those at DCU who have links with the US Military? You would spend your time more fruiitfully doing this rather than carrying on a stalking campaign against genuine anti war activists.

I have not been smearing anybody ,only pointing out that the leader of Hopi ,Yasamine Mather , was listed as a member of the academically related staff at Glasgow University’s Aerospace Engineering department and that that department is completely bound up with BAE .
Below is a list of the academically related staff taken from the Aerospace Dept. website last week . Check the site today and you’ll see that Y. Mather’s name has been removed.
Academic Related Staff
Mr R.Gilmour
Mrs. Y. Mather
Mr. K. Stevenson
Mrs C. Coton

Anne McShane ,HopiEire’s spokesperson , has written elsewhere on indymedia that Ms Mather’s only area of interest at Glasgow University, apart from working on a Marxist periodical there, is in its Centre for Systems and Control. Mc Shane assured us that the centre had no connection to the arms industry ,but a simple check on its website shows that it has industrial links to the following companies:
British Aerospace ,BICC ,Daimler-Benz (Berlin ) ,Eurotherm Controls International Atomic Energy Agency, Westland Helicopters
Tomeile admitted as much on a previous thread. DCU was temporarily blocked because of his trolling.
The point here is that there are very few universities which have no contacts with the "Defence Industry". tomeile is rarely seen to play a positive role on Indymedia, instead he concentrates on attacking and smearing other anti war activists. Doesnt it make you wonder what his real agenda is? He now has a chance to prove himself by campaigning against DCUs links with the "Defence Industry".
Prove to us that Tomeiles ip address is DCU and that it was blocked.
Otherwise your words mean nothing and can be considered lies.
You made false allegations against an anti war activist. Even when they were shown to be false you continued to post lies about her. You spammed Indymedia with these false allegations and this resulted in your ip address being blocked, it just turned out that it was DCUs ip address.
There are very few Universities which dont have some contact with firms that have military contracts. It has now been shown to you that DCU has such contacts. Rather than continuing to smear genuine anti war activists I hope that you will now put your energies into something closer to home.
You are in DCU, so now lets see you do something about the DCU links with Rolls Royce and US Universities which have very strong links with the US Military. The University of Washington doesnt just carry out Military Research; it teachs members of the US Military!
This is an issue that should not be treated with cynicism by people claiming to be anti-war . It's very important that arms industry funding for all universities should be investigated and an issue that the IAWM , AWI and PANA need to address seriously . Stopping the drive to a war that could turn nuclear and threaten the existence of humanity does not mean seeking out a pure university department . But it does mean that when corporations like BAE are funding a university department to research and develop aircraft, robotics and control systems , and when a member of the academic staff of such a university department turns out to be the leader of an anti-war group, people are entitled to ask what’s going on.
Indeed, even Irish universitys collaborate with Rolls Royce. Take DCU for example (tomeiles University): DCUs Centre for the Advancement of Science Teaching and Learning encourage students to apply for the Rolls Royce Science Prize. I hope tomeile will campaign in DCU for its links with Rolls Royce to be severed.

CASTeL has strong collaborative links with the following:
Physics Education Group, University of Washington, Seattle, USA . No links is provided here. I wonder why? Maybe it has something to do with its military links. This wonderful college offers RESIDENT TUITION FOR MILITARY PERSONNEL:

Military Funding for University Research
In fiscal year (FY) 2002, the University of Washington was awarded $45,788,541 from the Department of Defense or 6% of the UW's total grants and awards.

Plenty of work for tomeile to do at DCU.
