The Strange Death of Knowing Stuff Wed Dec 24, 2025 19:00 | Dave Summers
In his Sixth Form Christmas quiz this year, none of Dave Summers's students could name the author of To Kill a Mockingbird ? previously one of the easy questions. Another sign that wokery is dissolving our culture.

Will Labour Ban Christmas Carols Next? Wed Dec 24, 2025 17:00 | Julian Mann
If Christmas songs fall foul of Labour's 'banter ban', Christmas carols ? with their 'offensive' assertions of the divinity of Christ that are deemed blasphemous by Islam ? are even more likely to, says Julian Mann.

Starmer to Push Britain into Stricter Net Zero Targets Under EU Deal Wed Dec 24, 2025 15:26 | Will Jones
Keir Starmer is preparing to tie Britain to the EU's Net Zero plans in a move that would impose radically stricter 'green' energy targets on homes and businesses, leading to further deindustrialisation and impoverishment.

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4So I just checked myself and this did work. If you load the sound file onto a iPod (or iPhone) then as you play it the images on the screen will change to reflect whatever is being talked about at that moment. For the curious this was put together in Garage band (Mac OSX) and is simple enough to set up, you just drag the images onto the track where you want them to appear. However it doesn't appear to produce a youtube compatible output.
So I've been told elsewhere that the .m4a format this is recorded in does not play 'out of the box' on most windoze machines. So although that version is the best (as it includes the graphics) to make life simple I'm attaching an mp3 version. Again feedback on the technical issues of playing one or the other appreciated
(note to editors - you might like to consider upping the audio limit to 30mb from 20mb as this would allow 64bit sound recordings of an hour in duration in both these formats, I had to knock this done to 40bit to get it below the 20mb limit. The equiv. of an hour at 64bit would seem more intuitive as an upper limit)
Chinese revolution 7 Anarchism - no images in this version (note to editor

Have listened to the mp3 talk on anarchism in China, and the comments on the distorting Mao-this/Mao-that historiography promoted by right- and left-leaning historians. There are many black holes in twentieth century chinese history. It is certain that millions suffered from malnutrition, starvation, warlordism, Kuomintang and Maoist depredations. The city people endured the brunt of deadly purges and urban warfare. The state marxist control of media since 1949 means that the contributions of anarchists, christians, dissident buddhists, nationalists and liberal cultural improvers to modern China will remain difficult to quantify. I hope the people of China will emerge from centuries of foreign-imposed violence and self-imposed chauvinist backwardness and may experience many decades of peace.
