Vote Joe Higgins & the Socialist Party No. 1 in Friday's local & Euro Elections

It is now clear that our campaign is the best placed to defeat Fianna Fail in the Dublin Euro Election.

People really appreciate the relentless opposition I mounted to the Fianna Fail/Progressive Democrat Government when they were inflating the property bubble and allowing property speculators and big bankers rake in billions of Euro on the backs of young people needing homes. People want the same commitment now as the FiannaFail/Green Party Government savage the living standards of working people and the unemployed while they salvage the reckless developers and bankers.

What we offer is a fighting leadership for working people, pensioners and the uenempolyed to defend them against the government attacks, to mount a strategy of opposition and to reverse the cuts in public services. There is every indication that people are opting to support this in large numbers.

It would be an historic defeat for Fianna Fail if we were to defeat them in Dublin, a defeat that is richly merited for it was their policies which caused the economic disaster. A victory for us in Dublin would call into question the ability of right wing governments to continue to try and save their system on the backs of ordinary people and would be the signal for a major fightback. Central to this would be the demand that those who caused the crisis should pay. Also that we cannot rely on the same old tried and failed policies which got us here but need a radical economic alternative and a new mass political voice for owrking people and workig class communities.

History can be made on Friday as the put upon majority go out to vote for an alternative.
