Fish Beauty craze causing fish to suffer is condemned by AFAR .

A new craze where Panda Garra fish suck dead skin from feet is currently being offered in Dublin. The Alliance for Animal Rights is concerned about the fish and will be calling on the NSAI to investigate this.In 14 states in the US it is already banned as being unsanitary. This craze started in the US when the fish were imported from China.

This craze started in the US when the fish were imported from China. Now cosmetology regulators are insisting fish pedicures are unsanitary. At least 14 states, including Texas and Florida, have outlawed them. Cosmetology regulators are insisting fish pedicures are unsanitary.
Apparently if these fish are fed properly they will not eat human skin so these fish are starved to be used as a so- called beauty treatment. The fish are an algae grazer and we know in the UK there are serious concerns among fish breeders that this is unacceptable as they do not sell fish to salons.

Its probably just a matter of time before someone is infected here in Ireland . Cosmetology regulators in the USA were concerned enough to ban this treatment. To me this treatment is akin to washing is someone else's bathwater!.
