I have just been viewing the Show Racism the Red Card DVD having read through the education pack which accompanies the DVD. Good soccer shots, great interviews, children came across very sympathetically and very clearly spoken. The players involved took the question seriously. Both the FAI video and the earlier FA video (2005) can be viewed from the DVD and it is interesting to compare them. The voices are probable clearer in the Irish video. The players in the British video probably said more to encourage youngsters who find themselves victims of bullying/racism. Bullies are "ignorant people" and victims of abuse should believe in themselves and in their families. The Irish video concentrated on the idea that we are all the same "inside." Good shots of memorable goals. Attractive presentation. Shows sport and sportsmen and schoolchildren in a good light.

I think the DVD which is easy to navigate is a useful tool for schools and sports clubs and the whole thing is not too long to view at one sitting.

I am grateful to Paul Johnston of the FAI and Dundalk FC who gave me a complimentary education pack on Saturday last at the Cooley Environmental and Health Group's winter workshop in The Strand Hotel, Omeath, on "Bullying."

Thanks Sean- it is great to get feedback. Readers should now that the government isn't funding us now. However the support of the FAI, PFAI, Gaelic Players Association and IRUPA is genuine and we do have a good relationship with the teachers unions. With resources we could really make a good impact. The government not funding this project is not because of the recession- its policy. They didn't fund it in the boom either.

You can use the downloads for workshops. Supporters can get their team posters. Any help is appreciated.
