It appears as though Coca Cola are scouring UCD looking for at least one society to whore themselves out for sponsorship money in order to run yet another referendum. It's alledged that QSoc are the most likely to be targeted by the polyester pimps with a referendum being held at the same time as the class rep elections. It wouldn't be the first time that Coke has used a society in order to try and get the referendum (or two) overturned. Full story at link below: read full story / add a comment

This short paper does not pretend to a thorough analysis, however, it is hoped that the few indications would suffice both to verify assertions and to indicate a rich direction for further research. Innocence implies a lack of guilt or blamelessness; the images humans readily associate with the concept of innocence are those of infants, suckling babes, children and the newborn. A species tends to identify and place value on itself. In contrast to instinctive emotions we have the superimposition of cultural values/demands. Religion is the traditional repository and medium of constructed/cultural values. A cursory analysis would reveal that cultural values are not usually compatible with strong instinctive emotions. The value placed on the lives of defenceless children, infants and the newborn will be the criteria utilised to easily prove our assertions. read full story / add a comment

The contrast between the protests at the G8 in Edinburgh 2005 and in St Petersburg 2006 could not be more stark. Last year we saw New Labour government ministers turning up at Live8 protests and concerts. This year 1billion Euro has been spent on all aspect of the G8 conference including a very significant security budget. read full story / add a comment

A former leader of the Orange Order and of the Ulster Unionist Party, the Reverend Martin Smyth described it as "the biggest folk festival in Europe". Here is an account of what some of the 'folk' get up to at this time of year - from The Irish News and Daily Ireland on one day. The Orange ‘folk’ do it most of the year, but go into a frenzy of celebration of their Protestant Britishness when the sun comes out. By the way the reference to ‘KAI’ sported by some Orangemen does not refer, as has been extensively reported, to “kill all Irish” – it is apparently a reference to an obscure Norwegian footballer who played for Glasgow Rangers. The slogan used to be KAT – “kill all Taigs” – but there was no Norwegian to whom the slogan could be attributed and so it had to be changed. read full story / add a comment

On Sunday around 2,000 people marched in Tel Aviv to demand the prisoner exchange and to end the assault on Lebanon. Clearly though this assault was in preparation a long term and they were just waiting for a pretext. Unfortunately the so-called free press in Israel did not cover the event and in the so-called democracy of Israel, three protesters were arrested under the guise of having a demonstration without a permit. read full story / add a comment

Quite probably its just another sickening display of media manipulation. but here is the transcript in full being quoted by Western Media today, it purportedly arose from a conversation between Bush and Blair at the G8 when they thought their microphones were off, but Putin and their Russian hosts really wanted you to know how they chat :- read full story / add a comment

A 33 year old man was sentenced to seven days in jail for wearing the T-shirt with the words "Never mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols" at a court in Bray on Friday July, 16, 2006. The judge Murrough Connellan refused an attempt by the man to purge his "contempt" after his partner Lorraine Fitzpatrick purchased a plain blue T-shirt. The judge said he had not furnished "good reason" for wearing the garment. read full story / add a comment

Gone are the days of a fair fight and a ‘just’ war – whatever that insane expression is supposed to mean – today we have the actions of the ‘might is right’ ideology of barbarism. This ‘new’ primitivism is evident in the actions of Zionist Israel and the Zionist influenced USA. Today’s wars are the most inglorious wars in human history. How proud we should be of our achievements when we allow idiotic differences and greed to escalate into bloodshed. What a ‘noble’ race of ‘civilised’ humans we are! View this planet as a visitor and be thoroughly appalled. read full story / add a comment

Today's Sunday Tribune had a delightful story about anarchist squatters on leeson street finally being evicted after years of being the centre of the anarchist/anti-capitalist community. Great story except the house has been deserted since april 2004 when police harrassment in the build up to Mayday 2004 forced the occupants to seek other accommodation. It had been occupied for around 9months. read full story / add a comment
